Verizon wireless updating
There are two types of Verizon phones and each has a different way of updating roaming towers.
If your phone is 3G and does not have a SIM card, you can easily update your towers by dialing *228 and choosing option 2.

If you've been notified of these changes, you'll need to set up a new voice mailbox in order to receive new voice messages.
You will have received an e-mail and/or SMS with the date of your particular voicemail update.
This software update has been tested to optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches.
